We invite you to engage with IJURR at the 2025 American Association of Geographers (AAG) in Detroit, March 24 – March 28, 2025. Please stop by our table (Booth #314) in the exhibition area where we’ll have copies of the journal and books from IJURR’s Studies in Comparative Urban Change (SUSC) book series for you to browse.
If you are thinking of submitting you AAG paper (or another paper you’re working on) to IJURR, then please stop by to chat with an IJURR editor, three of whom (Mona Fawaz, Nik Theodore, and Liza Weinstein) will be available at the IJURR table to chat, at the following times:
- Tuesday, March 25, 9.30-10.30 am
- Wednesday, March 26, 3:00-4:00 pm
- Thursday, March 27, 1:00-3:00 pm
In the meantime, we invite you to read through a rich subset of articles and book reviews we have published on Detroit and compiled as virtual issue on the themes of Race, Capitalism, and Resistance. These 14 articles and reviews/review essays of 6 books on Detroit, published between 1981 and our current March 2025 issue, offer a rich set of insights on the AAG’s host city and what Detroit’s contested histories, contemporary struggles, and future-making projects reveal about the world of cities.
